Ant-man and the Wasp: Quantamania passed $363 million globally and $167 million at the US box office. The movie retained the top spot at the box office despite recently being dethroned by the new horror action-comedy Cocaine Bear.

The third movie in the Ant-man series and the 31st in MCU is expected to have a worse second weekend. It is only expected to earn $32 million, almost a 69.7% drop from the first weekend. The action-adventure movie earned $105 million on its opening weekend.

Last year, Thor: Love and Thunder registered a 67.7% drop in its second weekend.

The Ant-man movies don’t perform well among other MCU movies. However, Marvels hoped the third installment will hype up the interest compared to the previous movies. The first Ant-man movie earned $519 million in 2015 globally while the second movie earned $622 million in 2018.
