Paedophile Former pop star Gary Glitter recalled to prison
Disgraced former pop artist Gary Glitter has been sent back to prison for violating the terms of his license, according to the Probation Service.
After completing half of a 16-year prison sentence for sexually assaulting three schoolgirls, the musician, whose actual name is Paul Gadd, was released in February.
One of the biggest musical stars of the 1970s was Glitter.
He was subject to license restrictions following his release from prison, which included GPS tracking and monitoring.
The 79-year-old singing icon was imprisoned in 2015 for one count of having sex with a girl under 13 as well as four counts of indecent assault and attempted rape.
A Probation Service spokesperson said protecting the public was the “number one priority”, adding: “That’s why we set tough license conditions and when offenders breach them, we don’t hesitate to return them to custody.”
