Akshay Kumar as military hero Ian Cardozo first look at Gorkha

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has announced yet another project after Sooryavanshi, Prithviraj, Raksha Bandhan, Ram Setu, and Bachchan Pandey.

For the war film Gorkha, he partnered with filmmaker Sanjay P S Chauhan.

Major General Ian Cardozo, a combat hero, will be the subject of the film.

Kumar announced the film on Twitter, writing, “Sometimes you come across stories so inspiring that you just want to make them. #Gorkha – on the life of legendary war hero, Major General Ian Cardozo is one such film. Honoured to essay the role of an icon and present this special film. Directed By – @sanjaypchauhan.”

In addition, Akshay Kumar debuted his first look from the film. The actor is dressed in a military uniform in the images.

He carries a sword in one of the photographs, and his piercing glare is guaranteed to frighten his foes.

The words “Celebrating India’s 75th Independence Anniversary” on the poster suggest that Gorkha will be released in theatres on August 15, 2022.
