Amazon warehouse worker died due to coronavirus

An Amazon Warehouse worker has died after contracting coronavirus in California. A spokesperson for Amazon has informed the news on Tuesday.

Sources said that the employee was an operations manager at Amazon’s Hawthorne facility. He died on March 31.

Kristen Kish, a spokesperson for Amazon, informed the international news source, “We are saddened by the passing of a member of our management team in Hawthorne, California,”

“His family and loved ones are in our thoughts, and we are supporting his fellow colleagues.”

Amazon says that it is still unknown when the worker suffered from COVID-19. He has not shown symptoms of coronavirus. He was last on-site on March 16.

Sources said that he was on vacation from March 7 to March 20. However, he did not come back to the Amazon warehouse where he worked, and was not feeling well when he returned to the US.

The spokesperson said that all the employees in the company were informed about the worker’s death when it became aware.

Sources said that several workers in Amazon facilities have begun protests to demand Amazon’s efforts to protect them.

The online shopping giant has pledged its employees to increase cleaning and maintaining social distancing policies.
