The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a storm warning, predicting rain, wind, and thunderstorms in regions like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Punjab, Islamabad, and northern Balochistan.
Tomorrow, heavy rain is forecast for upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir, with dust storms expected in the south.
There is concern that the forecasted moderate to severe rain showers could trigger landslides in vulnerable areas like upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galiyat, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
These weather conditions are likely to impact these areas from the evening of March 29 to March 30.
The expected windstorms, hailstorms, and lightning pose dangers to crops and structures like electric poles, vehicles, and solar panels. Both tourists and farmers should be careful during this time.
According to the synoptic situation, a westerly wave affecting the western and upper parts of the country is expected to continue until March 31.
Over the past 24 hours, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northern Balochistan, upper and central Punjab, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan have experienced rain, wind, and thunderstorms. Meanwhile, other parts of the country have reported partly cloudy weather conditions.
