Lahore flour prices drop for 20 kg bags
In Lahore, the cost of a 20-kg bag of flour has seen...
In the open market, the prices of first-grade oil and ghee have recently gone up by Rs 20. Now, first-grade oil is priced at Rs 539 per kg, while ghee is priced at Rs 520 per kg.
This increase has affected the prices of oil and ghee packs as well, with a five-pack of oil now costing Rs 2,695 and a five-pack of ghee priced at Rs 2,600, both up by Rs 100.
Additionally, cigarette prices have seen a hike across various brands. A pack of 30 cigarettes now costs Rs 200, up by Rs 20, while packs of 25 and 30 cigarettes from different brands have also risen to Rs 180 and Rs 160, respectively, with the same increment.
Interestingly, despite the price surge, premium-brand cigarettes are still being sold on the black market, with an extra charge of Rs 20–30 per pack.
This indicates a persistent demand for these brands despite the increased prices in the official market.
