KARACHI: Banking Ombudsman Sirajuddin Aziz and Ameena Saiyid, Managing Director of Lightstone Publishers, have signed an agreement for the publication of his professional autobiography, Wings of Destiny: A Banker’s Professional Autobiography Carved by Destiny and Colleagues.
The agreement was signed during a ceremony at a local hotel in Karachi, marking the publication of Aziz’s memoirs, which chronicle his extensive career in the banking sector.
Speaking at the event, Aziz shared insights into his professional journey and recalled how he chose banking as a career instead of pursuing paths in bureaucracy or chartered accountancy.
Aziz said the book focuses on his banking career and does not cover his current role as Banking Ombudsman, a government position.
He said his experience had taught him that banking was not merely about money and numbers but, more importantly, about people, trust and relationships.
Ameena Saiyid said Wings of Destiny traces Aziz’s journey from a missionary school to the highest levels of international banking.
She said the memoir goes beyond professional achievements to explore the values, experiences and relationships that shaped his career and contributed to his success.
The book is expected to offer readers an insight into the professional life of a prominent Pakistani banker and the people and experiences that influenced his journey.
