K-pop singer and former Kara band member Goo Hara has been found dead at her home in Seoul, according to police officials.

Outpouring of grief and condolences following tragic death of K-pop star goo Hara continues.

The body of Goo Hara, a former member of the girl group Kara, was found early on Sunday evening, South Korea’s news agency reported.

Police said they were trying to establish the cause of death.

Goo’s death comes six months after her manager found her unconscious at her home, in what local media described as an apparent suicide attempt.

At the time, she was embroiled in disputes with an ex-boyfriend who threatened to circulate a sex video of her.

The singer and actor later apologized to fans and recently relaunched her solo career with a tour of Japan and the release of a new single.

Hara made her solo debut in 2015 with the EP Alohara after Kara split.

The band also included singers Park Gyu-ri and Han Seung-yeon.

In 2017, a reported 6,400 cases of illegal filming were reported to police, up from 2,400 in 2012.

Early last month, South Korean media reported that a woman had killed herself after she discovered that she had been secretly filmed in a hospital changing room.
