Turkish icon Engin Altan Düzyatan aka Ertuğrul has gotten immense fame across Turkey and in Pakistan.

Engin gave an interview to BBC Asian Network. The interviewer Noreen Khan asked him about the Ertugrul’s popularity in Pakistan. He said that both Turkish and Pakistani people love well-crafted stories.

“I think both Turkish people and Pakistani people love well-crafted stories. Turkish series are successful in conveying a touching sense of drama to the audience,”

The lead character of the Turkish masterpiece Diriliş: Ertuğrul Engin has recently confessed that he had not imagined this much popularity the series is receiving these days.

“When we were filming, we knew from the beginning it was going to be a memorial series. However, this much attention, even I didn’t imagine. We are grateful,”

Host Noreen Khan asked him how he sees the character of Ertuğrul Ghazi. He responded that he loved Ertuğrul Ghazi’s vision and strengths.

“I love Ertuğrul Ghazi’s vision, strengths, purpose in life, and all of his values. He is an admirable person and I am really happy that I could portray his life.”

In the end, Noreen asked him how the popularity of Turkish dramas has boosted tourism in Turkey.

“We know for a fact Turkish popularity increased after the TV series which is great news. We are really glad.”
