Mark Ruffalo Apologizes For Saying "Israel Is Committing Genocide"

Actor Mark Raffaello, who played the Hollywood science fiction superhero in films such as The Avengers, Thor: Ragnarok, Captain Marvel, Avengers and Game, Avengers of Ultron and Iron Man 3, has called for sanctions on Israel.

Mark Ruffalo shared a link to an online petition in his tweet in the wake of Israel’s recent aggression in Palestine, calling for sanctions similar to those imposed during the genocidal riots in South Africa.

Mark Ruffalo wrote in his tweet, “1500 Palestinians face expulsion in #Jerusalem. 200 protesters have been injured. 9 children have been killed. Sanctions on South Africa helped free its black people – it’s time for sanctions on Israel to free Palestinians. Join the call.”

Mark Ruffalo’s tweet was also retweeted by Pakistani actress Ushna Shah.

Ushna Shah praised Mark Raffaello and wrote, “this man doesn’t just PLAY the Hulk… he has the mettle! To say this in Hollywood, that too working for one of the biggest franchises! Always loved him as an actor and today my respect for him has grown a hundredfold!”

It should be noted that in addition to Mark Raffaello, several well-known showbiz personalities have condemned the recent Israeli attacks on the Palestinians, while American supermodels Gigi and Bella Hadid also expressed regret over the world’s silence on Israeli atrocities.

Several Pakistani, Arab, British and American actors and singers, including Bollywood actress Swara Bhaskar, also spoke out against Israeli atrocities and expressed solidarity with the Palestinians.

Note that, tensions in Jerusalem have been fuelled by the planned forced expulsions of Palestinian families from the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood and by an Israeli forces raid on Al Aqsa on one of the holiest nights of Ramadan.
