Apart from his amazing narrative skills, Khalil ur Rehman Qamar, the writer of Meray Pass Tum Ho, has a reputation for grating on people’s nerves with his frank ideas.

This time, the famous author joined the conversation over the infamous Minar-e-Pakistan tragedy, which has disgusted the nation to its core.

The now-viral videos on social media depicting a lady being assaulted, manhandled, and groped by a gang of guys are horrible to watch. The mob attack has sparked an unplanned debate in Pakistan about women’s protection.

Regardless of his feminist ideas, the Muhabbat Tumse Nafrat Hai author admitted that feminists or women who cry for safety and security are suffering.

While speaking in BOL News program Bas Bohat Hogaya, Qamar also spoke out in support of women while condemning the heinous crime. The Pyare Afzal writer voiced his horror and anger at how the guys present at the occurrence went to such a low level, admitting that women aren’t safe.

During the interview, he was quoted as saying, “I should admit that a woman’s honor and dignity is not safe in our part of the world”.

“I do not know who to blame. I am trying to understand the mental level and state of mind of the 400 people present there,” he said.

He went on to add that the persons who took part in the mob assault were not necessarily criminals, but rather typical men in Pakistani society.

Moreover, he labeled the justice delayed and his system’s inability to hold such people accountable as shamelessness.
