Meghan Markle’s first podcast is coming soon to Spotify

Meghan Markle’s first Spotify podcast is expected to debut this summer, according to an Archewell Audio spokeswoman.
In December 2020, the former “Suits” star and her husband, Prince Harry, struck a rumoured $25 million deal with the production business to create content for the platform.
After previously raising concerns about Joe Rogan’s contentious show in January, they’ve promised to take a more active role in countering “misinformation” propagated on Spotify.
A spokesman for Archewell informed Page Six that the company is encouraged by continuous dialogues with top leadership and is working on policies, processes, and strategies to increase creator awareness, reduce misinformation disseminated, and support transparency.
On December 29, 2020, Archewell launched its debut podcast, which included a bevvy of celebrities commenting on the pandemic-plagued year. Tyler Perry, Elton John, Stacey Abrams, and James Corden all performed, with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s 2-year-old son, Archie, making a surprise appearance.
Megan and Harry also signed a multi-year contract with Netflix in 2020, according to The New York Times, in which they will create “documentaries, docu-series, feature films, scripted shows, and children’s programming” for the streaming service.
“Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope,” Meghan and Harry said in a statement at the time. “As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us.”
Meghan and Harry are said to have yet to generate any Netflix content. According to some royal analysts, the pair may have been overburdened with tasks.
“Certainly, there is a lot of doubt now surrounding their abilities to produce content at the level and quality required for both media outlets,” author Pauline Maclaren recently told Express of their deals with Spotify and Netflix.
“Of course, we have to recognize that producing content does not just happen overnight and high-quality programs will take many months/years to generate.”
