Prince Michael of Kent, British Queen Elizabeth’s cousin, has stepped down as patron of a Kremlin-linked trade organisation in response to the invasion of Ukraine.

Michael of Kent, who has extensive commercial contacts with Russia, resigned as patron of the Russo-British Chamber of Commerce after being pressured to cut all ties with Moscow.

Previously, he returned one of Russia’s highest honours, the ‘Order of Friendship,’ when his links to the Kremlin were called into question following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

In 2009, he got the award from former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev for his work on Anglo-Russian ties.

Meanwhile, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent attended the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee event earlier this week at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
