After having a “mini stroke” last month, Hailey Bieber underwent heart surgery.

The 25-year-old supermodel stated that she had underwent a patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure treatment to fix a hole in her heart.

“It went very smoothly … I’m recovering really well, really fast,” she said in a new YouTube video, titled “telling my story.”

Last month, Bieber was transported to a Palm Springs hospital with stroke-like symptoms and discovered she had a blood clot in her brain that triggered a transient ischemic event (TIA).

Doctors, on the other hand, couldn’t figure out how the blood clot got there.

“When I went to UCLA we did more in-depth testing … to find a PFO,” she explained in the video, describing a PFO as “a flap between the right and left chambers of the heart.”

“Typically at birth it’s supposed to close on its own,” she added, noting hers didn’t close.

“They found that I had a grade five which is the highest grade you can have. Mine was fairly large. What typically happens is the heart will filter the blood clot to the lungs and the lungs will absorb it because they’re so big and they can handle it.”

However, the blood clot, “escaped through the hole in my heart and travelled to my brain and that is why I suffered a [mini stroke].”

The wife of Justin Bieber said she was “just grateful that they found it,” and her doctors performed a procedure in which they use “a button” to close the flap in the heart.

“I’m really relieved I will be able to just move on from this really scary situation and live my life,” she said.

“Most of you probably know or have seen the news about my wife … but she’s OK, she’s good, she’s strong,” the “Peaches” singer said during his concert in Denver, which he later posted on instagram:

“But it’s been scary, you know, it’s been really scary,” he added. “But I know for a fact that God has her in the palms of his hands, and that’s a good thing.”
