The producers of Strictly want to sign up witty chef Gino D’Acampo. For the 20th series, they want a strong lineup, and the saucy Italian could be the odd man out.

Gino, won I’m A Celebrity in 2009, was previously given a spot on Strictly but declined due to scheduling conflicts.

TV insider said, “Every year the team behind the show want to get the perfect balance of stars, whether it’s for their sex appeal, humor, or if they are a particular draw for older or younger viewers.

“But they view Gino as someone who has universal appeal, who is up for a laugh and more than capable of keeping audiences entertained.

“He also has serious star appeal, having been on This Morning for 13 years and winning I’m A Celebrity.”

ITV has yet to determine if Gino would host another series of the revamped game program Family Fortunes.

The chef, who has also been starring alongside Gordon Ramsay and Fred Sirieix in ITV’s Road Trip series, previously revealed he has been invited to go on Strictly in 2019.

He said, “That show would require a lot of time and training. Who has got time for that? Not me  . . .  not at the moment.”
