Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War directors respond to criticism.
Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War directors, the Russo brothers, discuss the studios’ criticism of both films. They’ve been chastised for producing the same content again and over.
Martin Scorsese, Roland Emmerich, and Francis Ford Coppola have all expressed their opinions. Martin claims that one of the biggest franchises’ films aren’t in theatres and are “more for theme park rides.”
Francis Ford Coppola said an MCU film is a “prototype movie that is made over and over and over and over and over again to look different.” Many disagree with what these filmmakers said. Joe and Anthony Russo, directors of Avengers: Endgame, have responded.
The Avengers: Endgame creators told the media, “The overwhelming success of those movies has caused them to represent something that has become ‘other,’ or maybe not attainable to some others for whatever reason.” The Russo brothers: “Not every movie has to be liked globally.”
“It feels like a very juvenile conversation. The whole thing feels sad and cynical and pessimistic. You’re talking about movies that 10-year-olds are weeping over and begging to go see. They’ll remember for decades that they were there with their grandfather. Like, give me a break,” Joe stated.
Not just the Avengers: Endgame directors support the MCU. Elizabeth Olsen of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness recently defended Marvel. She noted that big shows involve a variety of talents.
