Rebel Wilson will be starring opposite Riverdale’s Charlies Melton in a K-Pop road trip comedy.

A rising K-pop act will be followed in K-Pop: Lost in America as they become stranded in Waco, Texas, without a phone, money, or means of transportation just days before making their American debut at one of the most recognisable venues, Madison Square Garden (via Deadline).

You’d be wrong to think this was the start of a horror story, but like many road trip comedies, the band must work through their differences and a variety of absurd challenges to arrive in New York City on time, while the travellers and the locals come to love one another.

Additionally, it’s surprising that a film like this hasn’t already been filmed given the widespread appeal of bands like BTS and Blackpink. However, one thing is for sure: the soundtrack will be outstanding.

Melton, who has also been in Bad Boys For Life, will be keen to move forward once the “bittersweet” Riverdale boss Roberto Aguirre-teen Sacasa’s drama comes to an end.

Aguirre-Sacasa admitted: “When we were renewed for season seven, though we weren’t told at the time it’d be our final season, I think we were all feeling that it might be.”

He continued: “[The call came] as we were working on the last episode of season six.” Before stating that the news of the show ending means they’ll “go for the big swing for season seven, it’s really exciting.”
