Meghan Markle may have expressed “gentle reservations” about Prince Harry’s memoir, according to sources.

Spare, a memoir published almost two weeks ago, includes claims that Prince William physically assaulted him and that King Charles prioritised his own interests over his son’s.

Harry makes allegations against his stepmother Queen Camilla and claims she “sacrificed me on her personal PR altar”.

He also described his late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, as his “guardian angel,” saying she is always with him.

The memoir has sparked debate, with some questioning whether Harry will ever repair his relationship with his royal relatives or attend his father’s coronation in May.

In an interview, he stated that he “wishes nothing more” for his children Archie and Lilibet to have relationships with the royal family.

However, according to The Telegraph, Harry’s wife Meghan was more cautious than he was about his memoir project.

According to the publication, “media-savvy” Meghan may have expressed mild reservations about releasing the memoir.

She is said to have offered Harry her full support once he decided to go ahead with the project.

The source said: “Is this the way she would have approached things? Possibly not. But she will always back him and would never have got involved in promoting such a personal project.

“This was about his own life, his journey and his own perspective.”

Following the publication of the book, Harry went on a promotional tour and gave a series of interviews for US television as well as one in the UK.

Despite Harry’s support for his wife during several of her projects, Meghan did not appear in any of these conversations.

He appeared in her 40th birthday video, where she announced her 40×40 initiative, and joined her at a school in New York to promote her children’s book The Bench. In 2021, he also joined her in their explosive conversation with Oprah Winfrey.

However, if Meghan had gotten involved, she would have been accused of “trying to steal the limelight,” according to a source.
