Bateman, Bridges and Zendaya to attend SAG Awards

LOS ANGELES (AP) — At the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday, Zendaya, Jason Bateman, Jeff Bridges, and Aubrey Plaza will be among the presenters.

The 29th annual celebration honouring the best performances in cinema and television will be unveiled by movie and television stars on Thursday, according to the SAG Awards.

The film categories, which include its prestigious film ensemble award, are an important Oscar predictor.

The ceremony this year will be their first as a result of a long-term contract with Netflix. Beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern time on Sunday, the show, which was formerly televised on TNT and TBS, will be livestreamed on Netflix’s YouTube website. Next year, the show will be streamed on Netflix in real time.

The following films are among the nominees for the SAG award for best ensemble in a motion picture: “Babylon,” “The Banshees of Inisherin,” “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” “The Fabelmans,” and “Women Talking.”

Since actors make up the largest segment of the film academy, their selections at the SAG Awards frequently have an impact on which films win Academy Awards.
