Harry Styles gave $1 million to a charity organisation that supports efforts to end gun violence in the United States of America.

The As It Was hitmaker received a lot of praise for joining forces with the organisation Everytown for Gun Safety on his North American tour in the wake of a spate of school killings.

His tour includes a number of sold-out performances at the Forum arena in Los Angeles. Just a few days had passed since the shooting event at Texas’ Robb Elementary School on May 24, 2022, which claimed the lives of 22 people, including the perpetrator, before the actor from Don’t Worry, Darling partnered with the charity.

In order to support education and research, Harry, 29, and his tour producers, Live Nation, reportedly gave Everytown Support a whopping $1 million from the revenues of their Love On Tour.

Besides with performing at 44 performances around the US, the Boyfriends singer also met SDA supporters in Chicago and Austin.

A T-shirt was placed on every seat in the stadium during his performances at the Moody Centre in Austin, Texas, with the goal of raising $100,000 and promoting the cause.

Mia Tretta, 18, who lost her life in the 2019 shooting at Saugus High School in California, told Teen Vogue that “obviously, most of the folks going to Harry Styles are around my age — not everyone, but a big majority.

“I think hearing from other people your age is much more powerful than hearing from someone older or just reading a tweet or seeing a post about the next shooting.

“I think it’s so much more powerful to have someone standing there in front of you who is doing something about this problem and realizing that you could too.”

Chloe Gayer, a fellow sufferer, called it “powerful” to see Styles, who was born in Cheshire, backing an organisation like Everytown.

Harry is using his platform to “help lives,” she continued.
