Penn Badgley, who currently stars in season four of the popular You Netflix comedy. One of the original Gossip Girl stars, Badgley, reportedly said, “No shade. It has not recently been my cup of tea. Most likely, it is the genre. I have spent my entire freaking life acting in teen dramas.

HBO Max only recently revealed that the reboot had been cancelled and will not be continuing after the current second season. Additionally, fans reacted to Badgely’s remarks and swamped social media with their opinions. “Imagine THE gossip girl darkening your failing and cancelled show,” one user wrote.

While someone else said, “Either way the reboot was rubbish,” another added, “Wbk they will NEVER be the og.” “So here’s the goss: it is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to tell GOSSIP GIRL will not be continuing on HBO Max,” tweeted Joshua Safran, who worked with Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz to bring Gossip Girl to HBO Max.
