Dia Mirza recounts approaching ‘friend’ Rajkumar Hirani for Sanju

Dia stated in an interview with Indian Express that “we sign a bond of grief when we become performers. Heartbreak occurs when your stories fail to connect with readers, producers, or both. Heartbreak also occurs when you are forced to wait for an eternity for someone to assign you work. It is very difficult. A successful film may lead artists to hope that it will bring in additional work for them, but this is not always the case, she added.
Dia added that she called Rajkumar Hirani and pleaded with him to include her in the cast of Sanjay Dutt’s biography, Sanju. “Sanju for me was oxygen. I actually required it. I recall that Raju is a buddy, therefore I called a friend for the first time in my professional career and stated,
She added that she never made a call to a friend for work before Sanju since she was always nervous and insecure about doing so. Maybe that’s one of the reasons I haven’t gotten other gigs; maybe it requires you calling the director and saying, “I want to work with you.”
Dia appeared in a number of movies in the early 2000s after making her acting debut in Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein in 2001, which starred R Madhavan and Saif Ali Khan. She made a comeback as a well-known face in the industry with the 2018 movie Sanju. Since then, she has worked on the online series Kaafir and Anubhav Sinha’s Thappad.
