Will the Marvel Cinematic Universe get even spicier? Only time will tell. Reports suggest that Pedro Pascal, set to play Mister Fantastic in “Fantastic Four: First Steps”, and Robert Downey Jr., cast as Doctor Doom in “Avengers: Doomsday”, have been texting each other.

The “Gladiator II actor shared this information while speaking with ScreenRant at the recent SXSW event. During the conversation, the journalist asked him, “Who’s tougher to keep secrets for, Marvel or The Last of Us”?”

Pedro admitted that he was terrible at keeping secrets, joking that he shares everything with his Uber drivers. When the journalist asked if being his driver would reveal all the details about “Fantastic Four”, Pedro encouraged him to ask anything he wanted to know.

The journalist asked Pedro if he had spoken to the “Iron Man” actor. Pedro revealed that Downey had texted him that day and even sent him a selfie. When asked if RDJ was wearing the Doctor Doom mask, Pedro replied that he needed to look at the selfie again.

According to the outlet’s article, Marvel made the thrilling announcement at the 2024 San Diego Comic-Con, confirming that Pedro and the other “First Steps” characters will also appear in “Doomsday”. The report also suggests that “First Steps” may introduce Doctor Doom.

Both Pascal and Downey will lead some of the most important projects in the MCU. According to ScreenRant, the dynamic between Mister Fantastic and Doctor Doom plays a crucial role in both characters’ storylines. This makes their on-screen relationship even more significant.

In true MCU fashion, the franchise may have surprises in store for both characters.
