Actress Jacqueline Fernandez responded when the song Applause from her film Tell It Like a Woman and the RRR song Naatu Naatu were both nominated for Best Original Song at the Academy Awards. Jacqueline announced the news and offered the team her congratulations on Instagram on Wednesday. Sofia Carson is the vocalist for Applause, which has words and music by Diane Warren.

The song was nominated in the same category as RRR’s Naatu Naatu, Top Gun: Maverick’s Hold My Hand, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’s Lift Me Up, and Everything Everywhere All at Once’s This Is a Life. Leena Yadav, Maria Sole Tognazzi, Lucia Puenzo, Silvia Carobbio, Taraji P. Henson, Mipo Oh, and Catherine Hardwicke are the anthology’s directors. It is a production that is Italian-American.

In Leena’s short Sharing A Ride, Jacqueline appeared with transgender model Anjali Lama. She expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to work on the project in an Instagram note. “Beyond words right now (folded hands emoji). Jacqueline acknowledged the RRR team in her article for making history with Naatu Naatu. She also added, “Also big congratulations to Team RRR for Naatu Naatu nomination!!! My best wishes and love to the entire team and all the nominees (red heart emoji).” Jacqueline’s first film in Hollywood was Tell It Like a Woman.
