Ginny & Georgia has now received its first full-length trailer for the second season on Netflix. The Season 1 finale, which was extremely emotional because Ginny (Antonia Gentry) learned of Georgia’s (Brianne Howey) murderous past, led to the complicated love-hate relationship between the titular mother and daughter becoming even more complicated, is hinted at in the trailer as a continuation of that relationship.

In the last moments of the first season, Ginny and her younger brother Austin (Diesel La Torraca) left town on a motorcycle owned by Marcus (Felix Mallard). Fans will finally get the answers they’ve been waiting for thanks to the new trailer and the series’ imminent return. It was a tasty cliffhanger that left audiences with lots of unanswered questions.

In Season 1, we observed Ginny’s ongoing battle to comprehend her mother’s true identity and how she had managed to maintain her composure in the face of the family’s traumas, including the untimely passing of her stepfather. Ginny believes she has finally identified her mother as a cold-blooded killer on the run after learning that her mother had a hand in her stepfather’s death, but as viewers are aware, things are not always as simple as that. In the opening scene of the trailer, Ginny is trying to get rid of her thoughts by going for a cathartic morning run, but they keep flooding her. Ginny screams loudly in frustration as she struggles to understand her mother’s behavior.

In a flashback scene from the second season’s future episodes, which was previously made available on Netflix, Georgia learns that Ginny has learned the truth about her stepfather’s passing just as she gets home from the “best night” of her life. Georgia is left distraught and inconsolable by the shocking revelation, but the new teaser suggests that the mourning period, in classic Georgia form, was just fleeting because Georgia is seen resuming her new life as the fiancée of Wellsburg’s new mayor, Paul (Scott Porter), without her children.

She tells Paul that she doesn’t miss them and that she enjoys her home tranquility. As her coworker Nick (Daniel Beirne) confronts her about her evil activities at the mayor’s office, including embezzling money, more of Georgia’s secrets come to light at work.

The two-minute trailer also shows Ginny returning to her Wells bury home. Although we aren’t given much information about her confrontation with her mother, it appears that both parties were able to patch things up as the trailer features humorous scenes of the two sharing a bed, hugging, and cracking jokes in a car. We also get a glimpse into Ginny’s romantic life; while her relationship with Marcus is developing beyond just sex, her ex-boyfriend Hunter (Mason Temple) is finding it difficult to move on. In order to resolve outstanding concerns, Ginny is seen being open with her best friend Max (Sara Waisglass).

The teaser also hints at additional excitement, showing Austin’s father, who Georgia falsely accused of money laundering, visiting his kid at school and cocking and aiming her gun in another scene. Is she preparing to kill yet another of her loves in order to protect her family? When the show returns to Netflix on January 5, we’ll find out more. The second season will pick up barely two weeks after the conclusion of the first, the streamer has previously stated.
