Harrison Ford is taking on one of his most famous roles one...
Harrison Ford reuniting with Helen Mirren
Harrison Ford his wife Cara (Helen Mirren), and James’ living children, who are now in charge of the ranch in his place, are the new proprietors of Yellowstone when 1923 gets underway. Before they even deal with opponents who are continuously attempting to seize the land that the Duttons have firmly laid their claim on, they must endure the hardships of situations like Prohibition and the Great Depression.
In addition to Darren Mann, Michelle Randolph, James Badge Dale, Marley Shelton, Brian Geraghty, Aminah Nieves, Brandon Sklenar, Robert Patrick, Jerome Flynn, Jennifer Ehle, Sebastian Roché, and Timothy Dalton, the series also stars Jennifer Ehle, Sebastian Roché, and Jennifer Ehle.
A number of the cast members of 1923, including Ford himself, spoke with news about joining the Yellowstone franchise before the show’s December 18 release on Paramount+. Ford talked about why he wanted to make the transition from cinema to television, why project 1923 particularly appealed to him, and how Jacob Dutton compared to earlier roles he’s played like Han Solo and Indiana Jones during the roundtable interview, which you can read about below. He also talked about seeing Helen Mirren again on screen, his eagerness to explore his character’s journey, and other topics.
HARRISON FORD: “Well, that’s a big question. For me, for an actor, there’s not much difference between shooting for television and shooting for a feature film. There may be actually more time to develop a character over a number of different episodes than you have in a two-hour film. But it really is the only difference really these days, I believe”
We formerly believed that television had probably less aim than feature films. It’s definitely not the case anymore. I’ve never undertaken a project as ambitious as this one, and I’m really happy with what I’ve seen so far. The majority of it is still in post-production, but we have the first few episodes locked, and I’m thrilled with what I see. We have the technical ability and the will to shoot this like a full film, and I’ve been enjoying working with really talented actors and actresses. It is pretty lovely to view. I’m ecstatic about the entire project.
If you compare it to Star Wars or Indiana Jones, you’ll notice that we spend a lot more time outdoors in actual locations than we do on sets that are constructed to create realism. There is a feeling of reality there, then. You start to realize what a cowboy’s daily existence is like the moment you go outside in your 1923 attire and into the chilly weather.
