This upgraded version marks the first major redesign in approximately six years, following the previous SE edition, and promises enhanced features and improved wireless control.

According to a notice on Weverse, wireless connectivity for older versions of the light stick will only be supported until BTS’s Las Vegas concert in May. Beginning with the Busan concert in June, only VER. 4 will be compatible with wireless controls, a move that has sparked disappointment among fans.

Netizens took to community forums to express frustration, with many claiming the decision effectively forces fans to purchase the new version. Comments included:

  • “I’m going to buy it, but not being able to connect with the older versions is annoying.”

  • “If they won’t connect to previous versions, then they’re basically forcing everyone to buy the new version. HYBE really are a bunch of money crazy freaks.”

  • “What the f*ck.”

  • “I didn’t even use my SE edition that much. They’re going overboard, not letting the older versions connect.”

  • “This is ridiculous, not allowing the other versions to connect. If they wanted to sell new ones, they should’ve come out with a crazy cool version so that people would want to buy it no matter what.”

  • “They need some laws against this…think about all the plastic waste that will come out every time a new version comes out.”
