The actor was hospitalized on April 28 evening and placed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) because of a colon infection.
The legend survived by his wife Sutapa Sikdar and two sons Babli Khan and Ayan Khan.
The news comes just two days after the actor’s mother Saeda Begum breathed her last on Saturday in Jaipur.
However, owing to the ongoing lockdown in India, the actor could not physically attend his mother’s last rites.
He reportedly paid his last respect through video conferencing.
After the news of his death broke, fans and his Bollywood friends, colleagues and former co-stars took to social media to express deep sorrow.
Not only from Bollywood, but the entire Pakistani cinema is also saddened over this great loss.
