Musician and singer Tariq Tafu has passed away at the age of 58, leaving Pakistan’s music industry in mourning.
According to family members, Tariq Tafu’s health suddenly deteriorated, after which he was rushed to a hospital in Lahore. Despite medical efforts, he could not survive and passed away during treatment.
Tariq Tafu rose to fame with his iconic Punjabi song “Lahore Lahore Aye,” which became one of his most recognizable works and earned him a special place among music lovers across Pakistan.
He was the son of renowned tabla maestro Ustad Tafu Khan and carried forward his family’s rich musical legacy. Throughout his career, Tariq Tafu remained actively associated with the music industry and contributed significantly to promoting Punjabi music.
In addition to his singing career, Tariq Tafu was known for introducing and supporting numerous emerging artists. His efforts to nurture new talent earned him respect among fellow musicians, singers, and fans alike.
Tariq Tafu’s funeral prayers will be offered tomorrow at 3:30 pm at Shahenshah Cemetery in Karim Block, Lahore. Family members, friends, artists, and admirers are expected to attend and pay their final respects.
