The 54-year-old singer passed away on January 12 at the age of 54 from a cardiac attack, and on January 23, in a private ceremony, she was buried next to her son Benjamin Keough, who committed suicide in 2020, in the Meditation Garden at Graceland, according to Entertainment Tonight.
Elvis Presley, the father of Lisa Marie, and his grandparents Vernon and Gladys are also interred in the grounds of the Tennessee mansion.
The private burial occurred days before Lisa Marie was scheduled to have a public memorial service on Sunday (22.01.23).
A statement on Graceland’s official website read: “A memorial service for Lisa Marie Presley has been arranged for Sunday, January 22 at 9:00 am on the front lawn at Graceland Mansion in Memphis, Tennessee.
“General public is invited to attend. Please continue to check back to Graceland.com for additional details.”
After the livestreamed service, there will be a procession to see Lisa Marie’s final resting place, and anybody present on the estate’s north lawn is welcome to join once relatives and friends have passed through.
Instead of bringing flowers to the funeral, Lisa’s family has advised friends and admirers to donate to The Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation.
