SEOUL: London is set to become the center of a BTS-powered cultural takeover next month as the global K-pop sensation brings its large-scale “The City” project to the UK capital, turning iconic landmarks into part of an immersive fan experience alongside its world tour concerts.

The initiative will run in sync with BTS’ “Arirang” world tour stop at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on July 6–7, the group’s agency BigHit Music said Monday.

Titled “BTS The City Arirang London,” the program will officially begin on July 6, coinciding with the first concert date. Major landmarks across London will be integrated into the celebration, creating a citywide visual tribute to the group.

The London Eye will be illuminated in bold red, representing the signature color of the “Arirang” tour, while a floating installation featuring the tour’s logo sculpture will be displayed on the River Thames.

From July 8 to 10, Outernet London will host a dedicated BTS media art exhibition featuring large-scale digital displays showcasing visuals from the “Arirang” tour.

The exhibition will offer an immersive audiovisual experience, blending music, imagery, and technology across the venue’s massive LED screens.

Fans will also be able to participate in an “eight-stop stamp rally,” designed to guide visitors through key London landmarks while completing interactive missions and collecting stamps.

First launched during BTS’ “Permission to Dance on Stage” tour in Las Vegas in 2022, “The City” project was designed to extend the concert experience beyond the stadium by integrating music, art, and urban spaces.

The initiative has previously been staged in Seoul, Las Vegas, and Busan, featuring landmark lighting, drone shows, fountain performances, and multimedia exhibitions that transformed entire cities into BTS-themed cultural zones.

With its London edition, the project continues to evolve as a global entertainment model that merges tourism, culture, and live music into a unified fan experience.
