Santa Monica: ‘One Battle after Another’ was named best picture at the 31st Critics Choice Awards, which took place at Barker Hangar. Paul Thomas Anderson also won Best Director for the film. Chelsea Handler hosted the ceremony for the fourth consecutive year.
The ceremony featured several new categories this year, including Best Casting and Ensemble, Best Variety Series, Best Stunt Design, and Best Sound.
Film Highlights:
Sinners led the night with four wins, including Best Casting and Ensemble for Francine Maisler, Best Young Actor for Miles Caton, Best Original Screenplay for Ryan Coogler, and Best Score for Ludwig Göransson.

In the acting categories, Timothée Chalamet won Best Actor for Marty Supreme, while Jessie Buckley took Best Actress for Hamnet. Jacob Elordi received Best Supporting Actor for Frankenstein, and Amy Madigan won Best Supporting Actress for Weapons.
Paul Thomas Anderson also won Best Adapted Screenplay for One Battle after Another, which helped secure the film’s strong showing.

For drama series, Noah Wyle (The Pitt) and Rhea Seehorn (Pluribus) won lead acting honors. In comedy series, Seth Rogen (The Studio) and Jean Smart (Hacks) were recognized. Limited series acting awards went to Sarah Snook (All Her Fault), Stephen Graham, and Erin Doherty (Adolescence).
The ceremony was broadcast live on E! and USA, celebrating excellence across film and television. Critics Choice Awards organizers noted that these awards recognize both artistic achievement and popular impact, reflecting the best of 2025 entertainment.
