Pakistan’s renowned scriptwriter Anwar Maqsood has finally made his official account on Twitter. Sharing a video on the platform, Maqsood said that he didn’t want to be on Twitter but had to make an account after several fake ones popped up.
In a tweet to his fans, he said: “This is my official account. I request you to report all other accounts that are impersonating me.”
In another video posted on Twitter, the playwright said that his official account was @anwarmaqsood01. “All the other accounts by my name are fake,” he said. “If you love me, I urge you to report those fake accounts.”

Earlier, President Arif Alvi’s son Dr Awab Alvi posted a video of Maqsood denying that he has any social media accounts.
An account by his name posted several tweets about politics in the country and criticized Prime Minister Imran Khan for posting a poem and incorrectly attributing it to Allama Iqbal.
According to Dr Awab, the account was created in 2010 and had 68,000 followers and 528 tweets with the first tweet on March 29.
The account has now been renamed to RanaSanaUllahPk.
In the video, Maqsood asked people not to believe posts on social media attributed to him.
