Prince William, Kate Middleton met with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce before wedding

Taylor Swift and Prince William first met in November 2013.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding reportedly had a star-studded guest list, including close friends and some surprise guests such as Adam Sandler, who officiated the ceremony. Behind the scenes, the couple is also said to have held a secret meeting with another royal couple before the wedding: Kate Middleton and Prince William.

During their trip to England in May, Swift and Kelce reportedly met Kate Middleton and Prince William for a private meeting in London, according to People. It is not known what they discussed, but the meeting was surprising because the royals were not seen at the wedding.

Swift and Prince William first met in November 2013 at the Winter Whites charity gala at Kensington Palace, where Swift and William performed onstage with Jon Bon Jovi singing “Living on a Prayer.” They met again in January 2024 when William attended Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium with Princess Charlotte and Prince George.

For Kate, this London meeting would have been her first in-person meeting with Swift and Kelce, possibly starting a new friendship. Just hours before the wedding, William also appeared as a guest on the Kelce brothers’ New Heights podcast.

In May, William jokingly said “no comment” when asked whether he and Kate would attend Swift and Kelce’s wedding during an interview on Heart Breakfast radio. He said he hoped they might get an invitation and added that both Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are fans of Swift. William has also said that Charlotte often listens to Swift’s songs on the way to school.
