The trailer for Project Hail Mary has emerged as the biggest winner at the 2026 Golden Trailer Awards, taking home the prestigious Best of Show title and drawing widespread recognition for its powerful impact on audiences.
The film’s trailer, titled “Chance,” impressed judges with its blend of stunning visuals, emotional storytelling and carefully timed humour, helping it stand out in one of Hollywood’s most competitive promotional events.
Often referred to as the “Oscars for movie trailers,” the Golden Trailer Awards recognize the creativity behind film marketing and the teams responsible for generating excitement around upcoming releases.
Reacting to the win, Golden Trailer Awards Executive Director Evelyn Brady said the trailer clearly struck a chord with viewers and contributed significantly to the film’s strong global box office performance.
She described the campaign as “a master class” in movie marketing, praising its visual scale, immersive sound design and emotional balance that successfully captured audience attention.

The awards ceremony took place Thursday evening at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, where studios, filmmakers and creative agencies competed across 119 categories, celebrating excellence in trailer production and entertainment marketing.
Meanwhile, marketing agency AV Squad continued its winning streak by securing the title of Agency of the Year for the third consecutive year. Together with AV Print, the company collected a total of 14 awards during the ceremony.
Several other major productions also performed strongly at the event, including One Battle After Another, Weapons, and Sinners, with each project earning three awards.
Among film studios, Disney once again led the pack with 29 wins, while Warner Bros. Discovery followed closely behind with 22 awards, highlighting their continued dominance in entertainment marketing.
The success of Project Hail Mary at the Golden Trailer Awards reflects how a compelling trailer can build anticipation and leave a lasting impression on audiences even before a film reaches cinemas.
