- She says the couple’s behaviour shows a “refusal to consider another person’s pain”.
The Netflix series starring Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has generated buzz, but a royal analyst has criticized the couple as being “unapologetically selfish.”
A moment from a Netflix docuseries in which Prince Harry is heard talking about “just turtling” sparked commentary from Daily Telegraph contributor Celia Walden, who is married to Piers Morgan.
The expression, according to her explanation, refers to a “method of self-preservation whereby we retreat into our shells when the misery, trauma and pressures of life become too much to bear”.
The commentator went on to say that the show allowed viewers to “witness six hours of on-screen therapy” and that the “expensive hours on the couch” led to “unapologetic selfishness.”
She said, “There’s a defiant refusal even to consider another person’s pain.
“And a hyperbolic language that elevates every uncomfortable experience to a gaping, open wound.”
