Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly planning a quiet Christmas celebration with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
According to Page Six, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will spend the holiday at their Montecito mansion, keeping festivities low-key and family-focused. Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, is also expected to join the couple for the celebration.
While Christmas will be a private affair, the report adds that Harry and Meghan have special plans for New Year’s. The Sussexes are said to be traveling abroad with a group of friends to ring in the new year.
The holiday plans come at the end of a busy year for the couple, which included Prince Harry’s involvement with the Invictus Games in February and several Netflix projects from Meghan, a former Suits actress.
Harry has previously shared memories of celebrating Christmas in California in his memoir, Spare, recalling the family’s first holiday season after moving into their new home. He described buying a large Christmas tree, watching Archie run around it, Face Timing friends in Britain, and opening presents while maintaining Windsor family traditions.
Meghan has also spoken warmly about the holiday season. In a 2024 interview with Marie Claire, she reflected on how Christmas has become more meaningful as her children grow older.
“At first, I think as a mum with children you’re just enjoying having them there, but they’re not understanding everything that’s happening yet,” she said. “But now we’re at the age where I just can’t wait to see it through their lens every year.”
The couple’s plans highlight their continued focus on creating private, family-centered traditions away from the public spotlight.
