Todd Phillips confirmed the sequel to the hit film Joker and announced the title Joker 2: Folie à Deux, starring Joaquin Phoenix.

The Hangover director posted a picture of the title on Instagram, along with a photo of the Oscar winner reading the script.

Folie à Deux is a French term that means “joined insanity.” Shared delusional disorder is a rare clinical syndrome.

The official release date for the upcoming film has not yet been announced, but it is expected to arrive in 2024, according to The Independent.

Joker went on to become a commercial and critical success, grossing over $1 billion after its release in 2019 despite being made on a $55 million budget.
