Los Angeles: Trevor Noah, host of the 68th Grammy Awards, has landed in hot water after taking a jab at U.S. President Donald Trump during Sunday night’s ceremony.

The comedian, presenting at the 2026 Grammys, referenced Trump in a joke about convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s Private Island. Noah quipped, “Song of the Year, congratulations Billie Eilish, wow.

That is a Grammy that every artist wants, almost as much as Trump wants Greenland.” He continued, “Which makes sense, I mean, because Epstein’s island is gone, he needs a new one to hang out with Bill Clinton.”

In response, Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social, calling Noah “a poor, pathetic, talentless, dope of an M.C.” He insisted Noah’s remarks were false, writing, “Noah said, INCORRECTLY about me, that Donald Trump and Bill Clinton spent time on Epstein Island. WRONG!!! I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close, and until tonight’s false and defamatory statement, have never been accused of being there, not even by the Fake News Media.”

Trump added he would be taking legal action, stating, “I will be sending my lawyers to sue [Noah] for plenty$… Get ready Noah, I’m going to have some fun with you.”

It remains unclear whether the potential lawsuit would target Noah personally or include CBS Television Network and Paramount+, which broadcasted the Grammy Awards.
