Dengue victim toll soars in Karachi

The number of dengue cases is on the rise in Karachi as more than 100 persons have been tested positive for dengue fever in the metropolitan city in a single day.

Dozens of citizens have been diagnosed with the mosquito-borne viral disease in Karachi.

According to the Dengue Control And Prevention Program, 100 cases are being reported in a single day in metropolis.

30 patients, who belong to North Nazimabad Block F, have been admitted to Habib Medical and a nearby hospital for treatment.

123 have been confirmed with dengue in the past 24 hours across the province, whereas, 86 were reportedly affected by dengue last month.

115 of the cases were reported only from Karachi and 8 from several other districts.

A total of 15 people have already been died from dengue fever in Sindh.

Dengue cases are on the rise in Punjab as 64 have been confirmed with dengue in last 24 hours.

According to details, In the last 24 hours, over 500 people have been admitted with dengue symptoms in different hospitals of Punjab.

131 patients were discharged from the hospitals after treatment, whereas, 132 new cases from Rawalpindi, 9 from Lahore, 1 from Sheikhupura have been reported.

The outbreak of the disease isn’t just confined to big cities as hospitals in Sialkot, Bhakkar, Khanewal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh and Bahawalnagar have also reported several dengue cases.
