While fat deposits in arteries cannot be removed overnight, adopting a healthy lifestyle can help reduce buildup and prevent further damage.

Experts emphasize that dietary changes are the most important step. Fried foods, ghee, vanaspati, and fast food should be minimized or avoided. Instead, vegetables, fruits, lentils, and whole grains such as barley and brown rice are recommended.

Foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, including fish, flaxseeds, and walnuts, may help support heart health. Garlic, olive oil, and high-fiber foods are also considered beneficial in managing cholesterol levels.

Regular physical activity plays a key role, with experts recommending 30 to 45 minutes of brisk walking daily, along with activities like cycling or swimming. Exercise helps increase HDL, commonly known as “good cholesterol,” which supports artery health.

Additionally, the use of turmeric, black pepper, and green tea, along with reduced sugar and controlled salt intake, may further contribute to maintaining healthy arteries and lowering cardiovascular risk.
