ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council on Tuesday announced that the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026 will be held on August 16, 2026.
The council said the test will take place on a Sunday and confirmed that the syllabus from 2025 will remain in effect for the upcoming examination.

The PMDC advised students to stay updated through its official website for further details and announcements regarding exam arrangements.
The MDCAT is a key entry requirement for admission to medical and dental colleges across Pakistan.
Earlier, Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) had announced new exam centers for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2025 to make it easier for students, especially those from remote areas.
Under the new plan, students from Sindh and Balochistan will now have the option to take the test in Islamabad. Jacobabad has also been added as a new center, giving relief to students from upper Sindh who previously had to travel long distances to Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, or Sukkur.

Many students and parents had complained about the financial burden and stress of traveling for the exam. A female candidate from Jacobabad said she was relieved by the decision. Last year, she had to travel nine hours to Karachi, where the long journey, unfamiliar surroundings, and overcrowded arrangements made the test even more stressful.
