The teaser immediately teases the film’s eccentric and chaotic tone. It opens with a spade striking a carpeted floor as a man in shorts and cowboy boots prepares to dig.
The scene then shifts to a dock, accompanied by seagulls, before showing the man skipping along railings with his shovel signaling the film’s quirky blend of physical comedy and absurdity. Warner Bros.’ first poster reinforces the film’s chaotic charm with the tagline: “A comedy of catastrophic proportions.”
Digger features a star-studded ensemble, including John Goodman, Michael Stuhlbarg, Jesse Plemons, Emma D’Arcy, Sandra Hüller, Sophie Wilde, and Riz Ahmed. The screenplay is crafted by Iñárritu with his Birdman collaborators Alexander Dinelaris and Nicolas Giacobone, along with acclaimed playwright Sabina Berman.
