In a recent interview for his Netflix special One Shot with Ed Sheeran, the 34-year-old singer clarified that there is no tension between them and their long-standing friendship remains intact.
“I consider Taylor a close friend, and we meet when we can,” Sheeran shared. “I saw her a week after the news broke, and we spent four hours catching up just life conversations. It felt natural and seamless, like old times.”
Reflecting on their decade-long bond that began in 2012 during Swift’s Red Tour, Sheeran added, “I’m never self-conscious about our friendship. We’ve shared many years together, and whenever we meet, it’s as if no time has passed.”
Previously, Swift humorously addressed the situation on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, explaining that Sheeran couldn’t be informed directly because he doesn’t use a phone.
