Marvel Studios has officially announced that the globally celebrated superhero epic Avengers: Endgame will return to cinemas on September 25, 2026, ahead of the highly anticipated sequel, Avengers: Doomsday, slated for a December release.

The re-release aims to reignite fan excitement, refresh memories of the previous blockbuster, and set the stage for the next monumental chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Directed once again by the acclaimed Russo brothers, Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Doomsday will mark the dramatic return of Robert Downey Jr., not as Iron Man, but stepping into the shoes of the legendary villain Doctor Doom.

The re-release of Endgame will also spotlight the Russo brothers’ visionary storytelling that transformed the film into a global cinematic phenomenon.

The sequel promises an ensemble cast of returning fan-favorites and exciting new faces, including characters from Thunderbolts, Fantastic Four: First Steps, and X-Men, promising an electrifying climax to MCU Phase 6.

Originally released on April 26, 2019, Avengers: Endgame shattered records and became one of the most profitable films in cinematic history.

Domestically, it earned $858 million, second only to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, while international revenue reached $1.941 billion, bringing its global total to $2.799 billion making it the second-highest grossing film worldwide. The film also set a historic opening weekend record of $1.2 billion globally.

Marvel Studios remains committed to theatrical experiences, with studio president Kevin Feige stating at CinemaCon 2024: “We create films for movie theaters because that is where cinema truly belongs.”

The re-release of Endgame is expected not only to supercharge box office earnings but also to rekindle fan fervor ahead of the MCU’s next epic chapter.
