India receives yet another diplomatic shock as United Nation Security Council will discuss Kashmir issue after almost 50 years.

According to the details, the UNSC will hold a meeting to discuss Kashmir issue on Friday. Pakistan requested through a letter to President UNSC to call for an emergency meeting on Kashmir.

President UNSC said that the Kashmir Issue will be discussed in UNSC meeting on 16 August Friday behind closed doors.

India tried to oppose and stop meeting to be arranged to discuss Kashmir issue but failed.

India on 15 August abrogated article 370 and 35A after which curfew and strict lockdown was observed in Kashmir. Curfew continued even on Eid day as Kashmiris were not allowed to fulfil their religious obligations.

FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi wrote a letter to president UNSC to arrange an emergency meeting to discuss deteriorating situations in Kashmir.

This is the first in 50 years that UNSC calls for a meeting to discuss Kashmir issue which is a huge diplomatic defeat for India.

Previously, big shock for India as Russia has said to support Kashmir issue being discussed in United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

According to the details, Russian Deputy permanent representative at UN Dmitry Polyanskiy has said that Kashmir issue is being discussed in UNSC after a long time. We will not stop it from being discussed.

While talking to media Russian Deputy permanent representative to UN said that we will not oppose any meeting organized to discuss Kashmir Issue.

Previously, Foreign Minister of Pakistan Shah Mehmood Qureshi also had a telephonic conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov about deteriorating situations in Indian occupied Kashmir.

Russia also urged both countries to observe maximum restraint and solve paramount issues through dialogue.

Pakistan’s permanent representative to UN Maleeha Lodhi forwarded the letter from FM Qureshi to President UNSC to call an emergency meeting about Kashmir issue.
