Two got injured in a shootout at a Mosque in the Bayonne area in the west of France.

According to the details, 2 people got injured when an 84-year-old man started firing at a Mosque located in Bayonne. The injured men were of 74 & 78 years of age. Both were taken to the hospital afterward.

The suspect has been arrested from his residence by the Police.

Police authority informed that the gunman was trying to set the Mosque’s door on fire.

France President Emmanuel Macron has strongly condemned this incident and has declared this incident as a ‘vicious’ attack.

He said, “France will not tolerate hatred at all. Everything will be done to provide security to our fellow citizens and to punish the culprits.”

It should be remembered that another incident of a similar nature had happened in Burkina Faso, Africa in which a person entered the Mosque and started indiscriminate firing. 15 Muslims were martyred as a result.

According to British media, an armed man had entered inside the Mosque located in Burkina Faso and started indiscriminate firing. The worshipers died on the spot whereas 7 had gotten injured.
