Bernie Sanders won the New Hampshire Democratic primary contest.

The left-wing Senator won against centrist former mayor Pete Buttigieg, who presented a distinct democratic vision on the race to defeat Donald Trump in November elections.

Bernie Sanders called the night “the beginning of the end” of Donald Trump.

Completing behind Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders had two moderates; Mr. Buttigieg and Minnesota senator Amy Klobuchar, who took the third position.

Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren and Mr. Biden took fourth and fifth positions.

Technology businessman Andrew Yang and Colorado senator Micheal Bennet did not win.

280,000 Democratic voters cast votes in the Granite State yesterday night.

Mr. Sanders, 78, led Mr. Buttigieg, the 38-year-old the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, by only 1.6%, or about 4,300 votes with 95% of the total votes counted.

Mr. Sanders said, “This victory here is the beginning of the end for Donald Trump,”

He also pledged to create an “unprecedented multi-generational, multi-racial political movement” to win against the Republican.

Donald Trump remains a big threat to American Democracy, Pelosi

U.S. Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi criticized the Senate’s acquittal of President Donald Trump and said he remains “an ongoing threat to American democracy”.

US media reported, “Today, the President and Senate Republicans have normalized lawlessness and rejected the system of checks and balances of our Constitution,” Pelosi said in a statement issued after the Senate acquitted Trump of both impeachment articles passed by the House.

“The President remains an ongoing threat to American democracy, with his insistence that he is above the law and that he can corrupt the elections if he wants to,” Pelosi said.

Senate Democratic minority leader Chuck Schumer said Trump’s acquittal by the Senate was “virtually valueless” since Republicans refused witnesses at his impeachment trial.
