Russia reported 52 new cases of coronavirus on Thursday, bringing the total number of infections to 199. 8 of them have recovered but there are still 190 coronavirus cases.

According to the sources of Aljazeera, Russia said on Thursday a 79-year-old woman with underlying health issues who tested positive for the new coronavirus had died from pneumonia, the country’s first confirmed death resulting from the virus.

Earlier on March 11, The World Health Organization sees the outbreak of the new coronavirus as a pandemic, Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Wednesday.

He told a news conference, “We are deeply concerned both by the alarming levels of spread and severity and by the alarming levels of inaction. We have therefore made the assessment that COVID-19 can be characterized as a pandemic.”
