In occupied Kashmir, Indian Army Personnel that included a colonel, a major, two soldiers  and a police officer were killed in an attack during a cordon and search operation jointly launched by Indian Army and police at Rajwar in in Handwara area of Kupwara district on Sunday.

Kashmir media reported that Among those from Indian Army Personnel killed have been identified as Colonel Ashutosh Sharma, Major Anuj, a Lance Naik, a rifleman and police Sub-Inspector Shakeel Qazi.

Indian army officials said the commanding officer of 21 Rashtriya Rifles along with four others had entered a house during the operation where they were fired upon and killed. They said the bodies of the slain personnel have been recovered. Indian Army and police launched a joint operation They surrounded a house and opened fire.

Earlier Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred two Kashmiri youth during a cordon and search operation in Dangerpora area of Pulwama district, today.

The troops also destroyed a residential house by using explosive material. People took to streets and staged forceful anti-India demonstrations in the area. They raised high-pitched pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. Indian police and troops fired pellets and teargas shells to disperse the protesters. Dozens of youth were injured, some of them critically, in the brutal actions of the forces’ personnel. The troops have also launched a similar operation in Chanjmulla area of Kupwara district. Illegally detained Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Islami Tanzeem-e-Azadi, Abdul Samad Inqilabi, in a statement issued in Srinagar paid rich tributes to the martyred Kashmiri youth.
